Western blot System
Simple and very effective way to detect and quantify the amount of proteins in tested samples.
At the beginning proteins are separated by gel electrophoresis (e.g. SGS-PAGE) and then transferred to a nitrocellulose or PVDF membrane during electrotransfer. Using appropriate antibodies allows detection of your molecule of interests. At the result protein-antibody complex can be detected by the colorimetric, immunoenzyme or chemiluminescent reaction.
BioRad Western blot systems available in the Molecular Biology Laboratory are the complete set of modules, holders and power supplies that allow detection of selected proteins in your sample. The individual element of each set allows to prepare own polyacrylamide gel, to carry out electrophoresis, e.g. in denaturing conditions, transfer proteins to membrane and finally their detection. It is possible to work with several gels simultaneously that increase the number of tested samples and shorten the whole analysis. The simplicity and reliability of the BioRad system allows efficient detection and semi-quantitative assessment of protein levels in sample.
